2012 Elected Chapter Officers



Upon university graduation in Business Administration, Gilles becomes an Army Operational Logistician in the Canadian Forces from which he retired in 1996, as a Field Grade Officer, after 20 years of service. He becomes an independent consultant and gets mandates in Guinea for and for multinationals in Canada.

Mandated by Alcan in January 1998, he works in IT Operations to prepare Disaster Recovery Plans. He works in IT Security where he is also responsible for physical and logical security, and server room resiliency. He becomes a permanent employee in October 1999 where he is tasked to articulate the IT Millennium rollover operational plan.

Gilles transferred to Alcan Corporate Security in December 2003. Before his current roles as Manager, Program Development, Gilles was Security Manager for the Americas.

Gilles is a Certified Protection Professional (CPP), Certified Business Continuity Professional (CBCP) and Certified Information Security System Professional (CISSP).

Guillaume Banville begun steering his career in private security upon completion of his high school education. Having obtained his DEC in social sciences, from 2004 to 2007, he then completed his Bachelor’s in Security & Law Enforcement at Université de Montréal’s School of Criminology.

Guillaume showed a constant progression in terms of responsibility assuming several security positions for organizations such as IBM Canada Inc., Bibliothèque et Archives nationales du Québec and CFL Solutions Inc.

Thus far, having a strong experience in security risk management, supply chain security, physical security and development of policies and procedures in the security field, Guillaume then acted as company administrator within a consulting firm with activities at both the national and international levels.

Guillaume is now Security and Safety Advisor at Extravision; a Trois-Rivières-based company whose specialty lies in the development, design and integration of physical protection solutions based on the integration of technologies, people and operations. Guillaume also teaches Management of Security Technologies at Université de Montréal.

Since 2008, Guillaume has held several positions as an elected leader of the Montreal Chapter, including two terms as Chair. He has been a ASIS International member since 2006 and is PSP board-certified (Physical Security Professional).

Treasurer

Jean-Charles has over 12 years of experience in the field of public and private security. Former police officer in the French Gendarmerie Nationale, he served the corp for more than 5 years in various units, namely in a territorial brigade, in a highway platoon, and in an anti-riot unit. Since this arrival to Quebec in 2005 Jean-Chales has worked in the field of private security. Having spent several years as a Security Coordinator at Garda for Oxford Properties Group, he is now a physical security and asset protection Advisor for Bell Canada’s corporate security.

With a degree in Electrical and Computer Engineering, upon arrival to Quebec Jean-Charles focused on complementing his professional experience and in 2010 obtained Bachelors degree by accumulation from University of Montreal by completing a certificate in Police and Security Management, a certificate in Criminology, and a certificate in Violence, Victims and Society. Currently he is completing Masters degree in Criminology. His research focuses on collective violence around the world, governance of policing and security, and analysis of criminological issues.

With diverse and rich professional experience in the field of security, Jean-Charles is always seeking professional development through academic studies, professional certifications, and challenging experience.
